TGIF!

Wow, where did the week go? I can't believe how fast time flies by! The kids only have 3 weeks left of school, then I am responsible for keeping 5 kids busy all summer long! Wow. And if I do homeschool, then I am looking at this being the last 3 weeks of quiet during the day! Does anyone have any plans for the summer? Any ideas or tricks to keep the kids busy? I am making up some organizational charts and some calanders to keep them on track, but I don't have any ideas of inexpensive things to actually do with the kids. I don't want to spend a lot of money going to the zoo all the time, usually we invite other neighbor kids over and have picnics and have campouts in the back yard, but I think the kids are getting bored with doing that. What activities do you plan with your kids? Thanks in advance for any ideas you guys have!

And the second part of today's post is Who Are You? I love meeting new people! I posted last week about "I don't know what my real hair color is" and described some of who I was. Describe to me who you are! Some other of my characteristics, I am a debater. I love discussing politics. I love learning new things and reading about new things. I read fiction, non fiction, magazines (yes, I do read People and other gossipy magazines!), I enjoy reading other peoples blogs and learning about their lives. I have found several times when I have read other peoples blogs and learned different ways or options of dealing with things, life events, and I have on more then one occassion used what I have found from other peoples life experiances to transform the way that I look at things. So, would love to hear who you are! Little quirks, anything!

  3. We always get the pool pass. A little pricey, but so worth it. We also do lots of day trips and smore nights. Good luck!

I'm totally checking out that list above though.

Who am I? That's a tough one... as I feel like I'm at a crossroads in my life where I'm not even really sure. Personality traits: Type A organizer, lover of photography, great movies, and carbs.

  5. I don't have kids so I don't know that many great places. Here in Colorado we have a lot of mountains to hike in and I remember loving that as a child.
Who am I? I am a student of life. A spiritual seeker. A creative artist. A wife. A dog mommy. I am going to start a master's program in transpersonal psychology this fall and I am very excited for it! I love painting, singing, writing, and photography. I am only okay at all of these things. Did I mention how much I love my Husby??

  7. No good ideas here for summer fun.... I will probably complain to you on a daily basis to tell you how crazy my kids are.
Anyways, a little about myself..... I am your favorite sister in law, I would say favorite family member as well, I like to drink wine, read people and tell other people how to raise their children and you pretty much know the rest!

  8. No good ideas here for the summer. I take my daughter to the park a lot and enjoy the festivities around town.

As for me, I do not like talking politics. In fact, that is a rule I live by. I will not discuss politics with people because most people do not know how to talk about politics without getting emotional and hitting below the belt. I'd rather remain friends with my friends and not change my opinion of them because of a political argument. I've come to understand that there are well educated people on both sides of the fence. And that those people have perfectly logical, well informed arguments. I don't believe there is a right or wrong answer and therefore do not wish to get into it with anyone. The few times I have, I've been called names and belittled by my husband's grandmother who said everything we only thought the way we did because of our age.
